Amazon's new Echo devices, announced October 28, 2026, each solve a different household problem. The Echo Dot finally builds in a smart home hub and Wi-Fi extender. The Echo Time brings sleep-sensing wake-ups to your nightstand. And the Echo Show 16 wants to be the single screen your whole family gathers around. Here's what each one actually does for you.
Amazon's 2026 Echo Lineup: Smarter Homes, Better Wellness
This isn't just a cosmetic refresh. Amazon says customers are already talking to the new Alexa experiences two to three times more and asking it to handle more complex tasks, and the new hardware is purpose-built around those moments. Alongside the Dot, Time, and Show 16, the announcement included an Echo Studio with a Home Camera and an Alexa Photo Frame.
What's changed from prior generations? Older Echo devices worked fine as speakers and displays, but serious smart home control often meant buying a separate hub, and none of them did much for your sleep. The 2026 lineup folds the hub into the Dot, adds a dedicated wellness clock, and redesigns the big screen for family command-center duty.
